Identifying the educational components of successful women: A sample of qualitative research

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study is to explore the educational components of successful women. Methods: This study was performed by qualitative method and content analysis method (Clark and Brown, 2006). The purposive sampling method was heterogeneous 20 so that 11 successful women were selected based on entry and exit criteria and interviewed. The research tool was a semi-structured interview. Results: The collected data were analyzed using content analysis method (Clark and Brown, 2006). The five main categories were family lifestyle (with subcategories of residence, recreation, communication, nutrition, sleep patterns and clothing), experiences of siblings (with subcategories of happy experiences and unhappy experiences of siblings), characteristics of parents (with the subcategories of model features and model characteristics, parental educational axes (with subcategories educational emphases and educational methods) and peer style (with subcategories of peers' mental status, peers' material status and peers' social status). Conclusion: According to these results, it can be said that in the educational path of successful women, components have occurred that have helped them to move towards success.
