The mediating role of women's marital satisfaction in the relationship between attachment styles and the quality of sexual relationships

This research was conducted to explain the mediating role of marital satisfaction in the relationship between attachment styles and the quality of women's sexual relationships. The current research was descriptive and correlational. The research's statistical population was comprised of all Azad Marvdasht University married women who were studying in the academic year 2018-2019. One hundred fifty married female students were selected and studied as available sampling among the statistical population. Enrich marital satisfaction questionnaires, Hazen and Shiver attachment styles, and Samani's quality of sexual relationships was used to collect data. After collecting and extracting data, participants' scores were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and path analysis. The results showed that marital satisfaction has a significant mediating role in the relationship between attachment styles and the quality of sexual relationships. Also, the results showed a significant direct relationship between marital satisfaction and sexual relationship quality. There is a significant direct relationship between secure attachment style and sexual relationship quality, and there is a significant indirect relationship between avoidant and ambivalent attachment style and sexual relationship quality.
