Aims & Scope

The "International Journal of Sport Studies for Health" (INTJSSH), under the aegis of KMAN Publication Inc. (KMANPUB), seeks to illuminate and explore the complex interplay between physical activity, sports participation, and health outcomes. In achieving this aim, the journal sets forth a series of goals and welcomes contributions that align with this broadened scope:

  • Global Health Perspectives: Recognize and address the global disparities in health and sports participation. The journal encourages submissions that offer insights into how sports and physical activity can be leveraged as tools for health improvement across diverse socio-economic, cultural, and geographic populations.

  • Technological Advancements in Sports and Health: Explore the impact of emerging technologies, including wearable devices, mobile health applications, and virtual reality, on sports practice, health monitoring, and rehabilitation. Studies that assess the efficacy of these technologies in enhancing performance, preventing injury, and promoting physical and mental health are particularly welcome.

  • Interdisciplinary Research: Foster interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research collaborations that bring novel perspectives to the study of sport and health. This includes integrating insights from fields such as urban planning and architecture (e.g., designing spaces that encourage physical activity), psychology (e.g., understanding the barriers to physical activity and developing interventions to overcome them), and environmental science (e.g., the impact of climate change on sports and physical activity).

  • Policy and Practice: Highlight research with strong implications for policy and practice, aimed at informing policymakers, health practitioners, and sports organizations. Contributions may include policy analysis, the development and evaluation of intervention programs, and best practice guidelines for health promotion through sports.

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Commit to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within sports and health disciplines. The journal encourages studies that investigate how gender, race, age, disability, and socioeconomic status influence sports participation and health outcomes. Contributions that propose strategies to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in sports and health are especially valued.

  • Sustainable Practices in Sports and Health: Address the sustainability of sports practices and their environmental impact. This encompasses research on sustainable sports event management, eco-friendly infrastructure for physical activity, and the promotion of environmentally responsible behaviors among athletes and sports enthusiasts.

INTJSSH covers a broad spectrum of topics within the intersection of sports studies and health, including but not limited to:

  • Sports Medicine: Injury prevention and management, rehabilitation, and the role of exercise in chronic disease management.
  • Exercise Science: Physiological, biomechanical, and psychological aspects of exercise and performance.
  • Public Health and Physical Activity: Strategies for promoting physical activity, sports participation at community and population levels, and the impact of physical activity on public health.
  • Sport Psychology: Mental health, motivation, performance enhancement, and the psychological benefits of sports and physical activity.
  • Sports Nutrition: Dietary and nutritional practices for health and performance, including supplementation and hydration strategies.
  • Physical Education and Health Promotion: Educational strategies and interventions to increase physical activity and promote health in various populations.
  • Sport Sociology: Social, cultural, and economic factors affecting participation in sports and physical activity, including issues of access, equity, and inclusion.
