Presenting a Transformational Leadership Style Model for Educational Managers

Abstract

Background and Aim: Transformational leadership plays an important role in creating a dynamic and active vision. As a result, the aim of this research was presenting a transformational leadership style model for educational managers of Islamic Azad University. Methods: This study in terms of purpose was applied and in terms of implementation method quantitative from type of correlation. The research population was educational managers of Islamic Azad University of Tehran province in the academic years of 2021-22 with number of 135 people. The sample size was calculated based on Cochran's formula 102 people, which this number according to the size of the regions were selected by stratified random sampling. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire of transformational leadership style (141 items) whose psychometric indicators were evaluated as suitable. Data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling methods in SPSS-26 and AMOS-23 software. Results: The findings showed that the transformational leadership style had 22 components in 8 dimensions were include of relationship networks, leader characteristics, resource preparation, situation analysis, change drivers, management during change, team formation and stakeholder support and change actions, which factor loading and average variance extracted from all of them was higher than 0.50 and the reliability of all of them was calculated higher than 0.80. Also, the transformational leadership style model for educational managers of Islamic Azad University had a good fit and the transformational leadership style had a significant effect on all 8 dimensions and each of the eight dimensions had a significant effect on its related components (P<0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, planning to realize the transformational leadership style in educational managers of Islamic Azad University is necessary to improve organizational performance and effectiveness.
